“Having the opportunity to curate an event as a young person is rare, and the amount of trust that was placed in us enabled the group to create something beautiful. I was able to experience going on various radio shows, exhibiting my own art work and meeting other like minded people. The experience of being an Art Assassin has boosted my confidence and made me feel more confident and secure in myself entering the creative industry. South London Gallery genuinely feels like a nurturing place where the education team holds community and support at its core.”

Previously, Art Assassins have:

  • Taken over the South London Gallery for a day long festival of art, spoken word and music
  • Directed a short film
  • Made a video game
  • Reinvented the South London Gallery’s archive

The group was formed in 2009 and since then, they have defined a unique peer-led approach to create collaborative projects which represent themselves and their ideas.
