The Feminist Library

Join Heritage Programme Assistant Jade Onojeruo and The Feminist Library for a tour of the local area.

Originally known as the Women’s Research and Resources Centre, The Feminist Library was founded in 1975 during the height of the second wave of the Women’s Liberation Movement. In 2019 the library will move into the Sojourner Truth Community Centre in Peckham. Coinciding with Women’s History Month, this tour will explore the story of The Feminist Library and why it is still necessary to have feminist spaces today.

This tour will last for approximately 45 minutes and will depart from the SLG Fire Station Archive at 12pm.

These weekly Heritage Tours are developed through the South London Gallery’s critical heritage programme, Evidence of Us.

Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
