About Louie Louie
Louie Louie opened in the Walworth Road, SE17 in 2017 and quickly became a neighbourhood favourite. It continues to this day as a cafe/bar/restaurant hybrid, now with the addition of a small bakery.
Having championed many young chefs via a programme of supper clubs and evening residencies, we hit a wall hard during the pandemic. We weathered the storm by cooking over 3500 meals for neighbours in need and 7500 meals for the NHS + opening two temporary community cafes, the Tennis Cafe in Burgess Park, SE5 and The Yard Cafe in the Jamyang Buddhist Centre SE11.
Our second site opened in November 2021, Little Louie, in Elephant Park SE17. Café by day + wine, cocktail & audio bar by night, Little Louie shares a ‘meanwhile space’ with fellow traders Fix Your Cycle, Vintage Matters and Solo Crafts, welcoming one and all from the ever-growing and changing Elephant & Castle community.
The third site, Low Line Louie SE1 launched in Summer 2022. A kiosk & terrace built on reclaimed land by the Southwark Council Regeneration team with support from Team London Bridge, Low Line Louie features a stunning vertical garden and award winning architecture.
As well as running venues, the Louie Louie team runs a live music & education scheme called Altar_Native bringing affordable live music to the heart of the community in St Peter’s Church, Walworth.
