Join us for a free, drop-in workshop for families!
Suitable for children aged 5–12 years with their parents and carers. This session will be led by Bloomberg New Contemporaries artist Katie Surridge, who will be be inviting participants to make a hat out of silver foil, and thinking about how to use these hats as ways to communicate with each other.
ABOUT
Sunday Spot is a programme of free workshops that take place on the last Sunday of the month. Sessions are self-directed and designed for families with childrn aged 5-12 years old. The space is supported by the SLG’s Art and Play team.
ABOUT KATIE SURRIDGE
Katie Louise Surridge, 1985, studied at the Slade School of Art, (2010.)and was one of 4 finalists in the Saatchi’s New Sensations competition. She was selected as a Royal British Sculpture Society, bursary winner in 2011. In 2013 she spent 4 months in China as Swatch watches artist in residence, where she started Little Victories gallery, a gallery which operates from a bicycle. In 2018 she finished three years training as a blacksmith in Hereford at the National school of blacksmithing and now has her own forge and studio in Essex where she works whilst studying part time for her MFA at Goldsmiths.

The workshop is free and drop-in any time from 2-4pm. No booking required. Places are available on a first come, first served basis.
