The I ❤️ LHR Supperclub is a six course dinner on Fri 14 Feb at South London Louie.
This is a menu for indulgence. Feel comfort. Feel the hug of Lahore in the food. Let her hold you, let her wrap her arms around you and warm your soul.
Lahore is love.
Proceeds from the evening will go to Rising Sun Education & Welfare Society, a charity supporting inclusive education for children with additional needs in Lahore.
Numra, from Empress Marker says: “When I think of home, I think of Lahore. And I think of Naastha in the winter time. I think of chilly winter mornings, waking up in the near dark, reverberations of the Fajr azaan still ringing in the air. My eyes still crusty, I layer up in my winter woollens, shawl wrapped around my shoulders. I drive across Lahore, gliding along the early empty morning roads, from suburban Defence, through Cantt, maybe a man waddling along on a bicycle will pass us by, along the barren Mall road and finally weaving through the Shehr, at the foot of Heara Mandi. Lahore Fort looms over us as we make our way to Phajjay Siri Paye. The restaurant is the only place that is bustling with early morning risers like us, we weave to the back and take a seat. We order everything.
The naan arrive shaped like hearts and we giggle. It is Valentine’s Day after all.
On the way home, I stop at HotSpot for a chocolate brownie and vanilla ice-cream because I’m a glutton and that’s alright.”

ABOUT EMPRESS MARKET
The Empress Market menu takes shape from the culinary traditions across South Asia. It pairs seasonal British produce with classic dishes that celebrate Eid as it is done in Pakistan.
There results are true to the Empress Market style of cooking, at once nostalgic and refreshing, a contrast of flavours on the plate.
