Children and young people draw with markers on a window.

A creative space for local children to make and play.

Art Block is a free, creative space on Sceaux Gardens Estate for local young people to connect, relax and express themselves.

We run sessions for ages 6–16, split by age group:

  • Wednesdays (3.30-5.30pm): Ages 6–11
  • Thursdays (3.30-6pm) & Fridays (3.30-5.30pm): Ages 11–16

Art Block is guided by the interests and ideas of the young people who attend.

Young people take part in creative activities like painting, drawing, slime-making, and phone case customisation.  There is a kitchen where they can learn how to cook food from around the world as well as a separate cosy space to unwind. Additionally, Art Block hosts special projects where young people collaborate with artists to try a range of activities, from screen printing to growing vegetables and birdwatching.

The Art Block team consists of experienced creatives who are passionate about working with young people. All staff receive regular training and are skilled in supporting attendees with additional needs. SLG staff are responsible for the safety of the children and young people that we work with. Read our safeguarding policy.
